  • Mythology and the gods

  • Pompeii

Trade and Empire

Explore the world Sir John Soane lived in and discover what can be learnt from a Georgian house about the impact of trade and empire on Britain. In a historic house with no visible interpretation, students are led on an interactive tour and workshop and are challenged to ask perceptive questions about the objects in the museum, learning how to analyse the varied historical sources they encounter.

Students are inspired to be curious about the past, exploring key concepts such as industry, empire, and transatlantic slave trade and abolitionism as it relates to their topic of study, as captured in the preserved house of a Georgian architect.
