Get creative this Christmas with two Soanean Step by Steps.
Every second Saturday of every month, the Museum runs workshops for families. During the pandemic, these have been in the form of special Step by Steps - you can see all of them on the Learning section of our blog.
To celebrate Christmas we've got not one but two new Step by Steps, brought to you by artist Gwen Ramsay. Have a go at creating your own Soanean lanterns and Christmas cards using the instructions below!
Sir John Soane is sometimes called 'the architect of light'. Follow his lead and spread some festive light in your home with a Soaneian red lantern.
Create a 12 Days of Christmas Card
For every line of the '12 Days of Christmas' Carol, Gwen has selected and drawn an object from the collection. Inside these windows you'll find: A partridge, a turtle dove, a calling bird, a gold ring, a goose, a swan, a maid, a lady dancing, a lord a-leaping, a piper piping, and a drum!
