The Soane Museum Study Group is an open forum for scholars – both established and emerging – to present new research into an aspect of architectural history and/or Soane’s collection. The 2021 programme will be delivered virtually throughout the year with talks posted on the Soane Museum website.

The Codex Coner

Paul Davies is a Professor Emeritus of the Department of History at the University of Reading. Dr David Hemsoll is a Reader in the Department of Art History, Curating and Visualising Studies at the University of Birmingham. This study group ‘in conversation’ session explores their work to research and catalogue the important Codex Coner, a volume of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Italian drawings within the collection at Sir John Soane’s Museum.
