In 1979, Sir John Summerson, renowned architectural historian and then the Director of Sir John Soane’s Museum, recorded a tour of Soane’s house and Museum in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Forty one years later, thanks to the work of Pidgeon Digital, you can join the author of Georgian London and The Classical Language of Architecture on an online tour of the Museum’s much-loved spaces.

Follow Summerson through a series of contemporary slides from his day, encountering the Museum’s most famous rooms and artworks. As well as an introduction to the Museum’s highlights and layout, the tour also offers the opportunity to encounter the spaces as they were during the late 70s, before the major restoration projects carried out from 2011-2016.
